Life on the Street

When you have no place to go
Time itself will take its toll
With no place to call your own
That’s when you find you’re all alone
The darkness falls the streets are bare
Does anybody really care
Talk is cheap so they say
Housing is the only way
The seasons change
The nights are cold
Keep warm so I’m told
The shelters are full
As we all know
Under the bridge is where I’ll go
The cement is cold at least I’m dry
No one could say I didn’t try
